The goal of Chicago Halloweek is to ensure youth and families have the opportunity to celebrate Halloween and all Fall seasonal events safely. Read more below!
Halloween COVID and Flu Safety
Make sure the entire family, age 6 months and up is up-to-date on your COVID-19 and Flu vaccination (including the updated vaccine / BOOsters for eligible Chicagoans). Vaccination continues to offer the best protection against severe outcomes from COVID-19.
Find your vaccine at Chicago.gov/COVIDvax.
Chicago’s Halloweek Guidelines
to Prevent Respiratory Illness
- Get your updated COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations this fall (for everyone 6 months and up).
- Do not hand out candy or participate in Halloween events if you have recently tested positive for COVID-19 or are having symptoms of any infectious disease.
- Remember to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before and after trick-or-treating and before eating candy.
- Consider wearing a mask if you are trick-or-treating in crowded indoor public settings, especially if you are at risk of getting very sick. A costume mask is not a substitute for a high-quality mask.
- Increase ventilation indoors or host activities outdoors.
