Found Sounds and Collaborations at Palmer

  • Palmer Park 201 East 111th Street Chicago, IL, 60628 United States (map)

Learn to use handheld audio recorders to record neighborhood and environmental sounds. Learn best practices and techniques for recording interviews with C.A.M.P. Resident Artist Chris Saint Martin.

This event is part of a series of 5 workshops hosted by the C.A.M.P. Residency. The CAMP Residencies aim to partner artists with community, parks, and potentially other city departments or local businesses to embark on deeper creative engagements, identifying and actualizing neighborhood priorities at the intersection of culture and other aspects of quality of life. This residency builds off the community arts engaged projects began by Chris Saint Martin during Phase 1 of C.A.M.P. This residency is supported through a Walder Foundation grant.

Cultural Asset Mapping Project (CAMP) is part of a larger initiative led by the Chicago Park District, the City of Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, and the League of Chicago Theatres to better understand the performing arts and related cultural forms on the South Side and West Side of Chicago.
